Subject:
Rebuilding Hunt Barn Bigger and Better
Hello Belle
Meaders,
We will be building the barn back,
of course.
Our needs have changed in the 24
years since we built the other one.
So we will build it back
accordingly.
Thanks to all who have offered help
- financial and physical. The answer is yes and yes. We will be
organizing work days to do the portions of the construction suitable for Belle
Meade's finest to handle.
Thanks to everyone who came to our
Work Day Saturday 6/1. We built a new fence 70 feet behind where the back
of the main barn used to be -- parallel to the back of the barn.
This is a permanent addition and improvement. Now all our pastures
are back in service.
Attending Saturday's work day
were:
Chuck, Kerensa, and Chandler
Tolbert
Philip Green
Alan Hampton
Allene Reville
Jo McPhail
Greg, Diane, Jennifer and Kristin
Preston
Charlie
Daniels
Dick Dozier
Kenny Palmer
Wendi, Chase, Sharon and Epp

We are waiting for the insurance
adjuster to give us the go ahead to clean up the mess.
We plan to have a Hunt Committee
meeting this week to go over preliminary sketches, floor plans, and front
elevation.
Everyone is invited to be part of
the process.
We need a long list of all the
features we would like to have in the new barn. Then we can prioritize
them and incorporate as many of them as possible - within the budget that we
have.
If there is something that you
really want and you would like to donate it, that won't hurt our feelings
either.
Sharon and I have already
volunteered to donate a new and improved version of Charlie's buns warmer for
the tack room. This one will be a gas log fireplace - set into stone faced
wall -- with a seat high stone hearth - just like the new one we put in our
great room in our home. We will donate the stone, the labor, and the gas
log system.
Perhaps that would be a good spot
for coyote mounts. Perhaps it would be a good focal point for the memorial
to Master James.
This project is a real
opportunity.
What else would you like to see in
there???
More later.
Epp
